At John Perry’s Montana Fly Fishing, you will have an exhilarating time on the rivers of Montana, and unparalleled camaraderie with your fly fishing guide.
John Perry started as a fly fishing guide in Montana in the early 80's when he was a forestry student at the University of Montana. After several summers of guiding he knew this is what he was born to do.
After a wonderful day on the river, relax with a great meal amidst the rustic comfort of the fabulous Clark Fork River Lodge. Take a moment by yourself or with friends to lounge on the deck overlooking the Clark Fork River or tie tomorrow’s flies at the lodge’s fly-tying station.
Nestled between the Sapphire Mountains to the west and the John Long Mountains to the east, Rock Creek MT is arguably the finest trout stream in Montana.
The Clark Fork is over 300 miles long and the largest river by volume in Montana.
The Blackfoot is probably Montana’s most well-known river thanks to Norman Maclean’s novel, A River Runs Through It, and the movie of the same name, which was based on that novel.

"John Perry is a rare breed of river wisdom and wit. My guests all love John. He's extra fun, goes the extra mile and catches me extra fish! A guide's-guide I'm glad to plan fish with year after year. Extraordinary!"
“Have been fishing with John for over 25 years. Every year is a new experience. We find rivers and go to places I haven't visited before. All this just adds to what is a great fishing experience and trip - and I get there sometimes more than once a year. John has been a teacher, guide, and over the years, has become my friend.”
"I loved the experience! He took us out on Rock Creek and I was thoroughly pleased with the fun we had! We didn't have to worry about anything John Perry handled everything from start to finish for the two days that we paid for! Was great!"
"I know of no one better and I have been around the sport for 35 years. He knows the fish, he knows the rivers, he knows the bugs and sometimes I actually think he speaks to the fish! He makes it fun and enjoyable. It was an experience I recommend to anyone. We now come back every year."
