Fishing Report 6/6/2025
Rock Creek: The salmon fly hatch on Rock Creek is in full swing now! The trout are really munching the big bugs-it’s common for a 15 inch trout to have as many as 3 or 4 dozen salmon flies in their tummy! You may want to have a wide variety of salmon fly patterns-sometimes just switching up a bit may be the right move! The creek is still fairly high now but wading in safer areas has been great for the past 5 days. If you are floating the creek scout it out first or get floating info from the Rock Creek Mercantile or others that are familiar with current conditions.
Blackfoot: The Blackfoot is on the verge-not quite ready yet-but anyday now. Salmon flies have been fishing well in some spots, and streamers in others.
Lower Clark Fork: The lower Clark Fork has been descent with dry/dropper-some golden stones and spotty hatches of green drakes and small caddis-the river is still moving but mid afternoon fishing can be fun with spitfire rises!
Missouri: If you want to head over to the east side of the divide and fish the Missouri-you are going to run into very good dry fly fishing-but it is kind of crowded-especially the weekends!
Anyway go out and have some fun-but use caution on every piece of water-especially if floating the freestones.
